About

Saša Tomović is a leading urology specialist and skilled urological surgeon with years of experience in both public and private clinics. He is renowned in professional circles for pioneering the use of laparoscopic surgical techniques in local urology practice by forming a urological surgery team at the KBC “Zvezdara” in the early 2000s. Additionally, he was among the first to adopt medical laser technology for breaking up urinary tract stones, offering significant relief for this widespread condition.
Tomović has refined his expertise through training and working in esteemed urology centers in Greece, Germany, Italy, the USA, and Turkey. He further enhanced his skill set under the mentorship of Professor Sava Perović, mastering advanced genitourinary reconstructive surgery techniques.
Embracing the challenges of private healthcare, he founded his urology clinic and later a specialized urology hospital, making significant contributions to the Sava Memorial Hospital team. His dual role as a pioneering specialist and an experienced healthcare entrepreneur has been invaluable.

Dr. Tomović is affiliated with the Urological Association of Serbia (UUS) and actively contributes to the European Association of Urology (EAU) and the European Society for Sexual Medicine (ESSM).

 Areas of Expertise:

  • Laparoscopic prostatectomy

How this doctor can help:

As a trailblazer in using minimally invasive surgical techniques (including laparoscopic, endoscopic, and endourological procedures), Dr. Tomović has played a key role in advancing urology in Serbia. His generation of doctors made these modern techniques accessible to patients in our country. Prostate diseases— from benign enlargements to cancer— are conditions that can cause anxiety among men. The fear of invasive examinations has historically deterred many from seeking preventative care. However, the shift towards non-invasive techniques and more comfortable preventative screenings, coupled with the increasing success in treating tumors and prostate cancer when detected early, encourages men to attend regular check-ups.

Professional philosophy and approach to patient care:

“The genitourinary system is a complex network that intertwines our excretory functions with our reproductive capabilities. This system significantly impacts our health, quality of life, and self-esteem. The complexity of this system necessitates careful consideration in choosing treatment methods.
A combination of expertise, experience, and the use of modern techniques contributes to success in preserving health and treating conditions. My team consists of highly experienced urologists specialized in different areas of the genitourinary tract, allowing us to comprehensively assess problems and help find the best treatment methods.”
